Adopted Danes

ADOPTED!

My name is "BOE" I am a 1 year old Fawn male with cropped ears. I have been well cared for but, my mom is moving and can't keep me. I have lived with a cat, I would love a Dane friend and a nice yard! (Kids are optional) I have a wee bit of an infection between my legs and could use a trip to the vet. UPDATE: Thank you so much.  I think these two special danes were made for each other.  They get along great, and have such fun together.  Zeus loves water...the sprinklers, the kiddie pool, and the hose.  Sierra is not much on water, but she loves to play tug-o-war, wrestle, and run with Zeus.  They play and play, then rest, and start all over again.  Both are such happy campers...and they make me happy too.  Thanks, Betsy

Grace just wanted to give you her annual holiday update. She has been with us now for more than two years. Grace had her second knee surgery in February '05. The surgeon who did her first knee (left) had cautioned us that she had damage to both knees and the right one would likely require surgery too. She was right, and we started seeing Grace favoring her left leg, so we knew the right one was bothering her. After the surgery, we were fortunate to find a wonderful vet who specializes in physical therapy and Grace had about 15 therapy/rehab sessions. They did ultrasound on both of her knees and then she had to walk on a treadmill in a water tank to build her strength and muscle mass without putting pressure on her joints. After a lengthy recovery period, she is doing very well and now can act like a normal dog without restrictions on running, jumping, etc. She's blossomed since her recovery and we think she probably was experiencing some level of discomfort for quite some time. Grace is such a big dog that people are always commenting,
“Why don’t you put a saddle on that thing?”
So, for Halloween we did just that and entered she and Macy in a costume contest at the local dog park. Grace was the horse and Macy the cowboy. I trained Macy to wear a cowboy hat, (no small feat, I might add). We took first place, and it was a hoot! Wishing you peace, health and laughter in the coming year.

We adopted Brutus in 2001 after losing our beloved brindle great dane to health problems. Brutus  is absoulutely wonderful and we love him sooo much. He loves to go fishing with dad or go along on horseback riding trips. He's the best friend anyone could ever have. We loved this picture of him and his buddy Jef.... and just had to share.  Brutus, Jef, Jim and Linda
